With the support and dedication of various departments and leaders, including the railway departments, the “Chongqing-Shenzhen Scheduled Service” was successfully launched on June 15 this year. This service not only provides a stable and reliable departure schedule for Chongqing’s export cargo but also reduces the transportation time from Chongqing to YANTIAN from 5 days to just 2 days, offering the exporters in the inland area a more efficient and dependable green channel to the sea.👍

In the two months since its launch, the weekly export container volume for this scheduled freight rail service has increased by 30%, effectively meeting customer demand with timely and responsive service.

Thanks to YANTIAN’s top-tier shipping services, cargo can reach US in as little as 12.5 days and Europe in 22 days. Additionally, cargo from the Southwest China can be directly exported from YANTIAN or transferred to Hong Kong via six daily feeder services, which take just 6-8 hours. This seamless transfer connects to more advantageous routes from Kwai Tsing Port, including those to South America, Asia, and beyond. After transshipment at Shenzhen’s YANTIAN or Hong Kong’s Kwai Tsing Port, the cargo will be shipped to six continents worldwide, excluding Antarctica.

Kwai Tsing Port primarily serves Asian and South American markets, boasting the largest number of Intra-Asia and South America services in South China, while YANTIAN focuses on Europe and the US, with 4 vessels heading for Europe and 6 vessels heading for the US every day.

The Hong Kong Transport and Logistics Bureau has affirmed the significance of the Chongqing-Shenzhen-Hong Kong express service. In his closing remarks at the Hong Kong Legislative Council last month, Under Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Liu Chuan San, highlighted that the cooperation between the Kwai Tsing and YANTIAN not only increases cargo volumes for Hong Kong but also accelerates cargo handling and transportation, facilitating faster access for cargo from Chongqing and the Southwest China to international markets. Kwai Tsing and YANTIAN, leveraging their combined strengths, supports high-quality development of international trade in the Chengdu-Chongqing region, creating mutual benefits for all three areas.

As of now, YANTIAN has opened 16 inland ports, 31 rail-sea services, 13 port alliances, and 17 feeder services, serving the Greater Bay Area, Southwest, and Central China regions.

Lawrence Shum, Managing Director of Hutchison Ports YANTIAN stated, "Efficient channels are essential for vibrant trade and thriving industries. The 'Chongqing-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Service' represents a strategic response to the Third Plenary Session's 'Decision,' which underscores the need to leverage the 'One Country, Two Systems' framework to bolster Hong Kong's role as a global financial, shipping, and trade hub. As a pioneer in Shenzhen-Hong Kong collaboration for nearly 31 years, YANTIAN will continue to partner with all stakeholders to develop and deploy innovative multi-regional cooperation models, such as the 'Kui-Yan Link' and the 'Chongqing-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Service.' These efforts will further integrate the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, support Shenzhen’s evolution into a leading global logistics centre, reinforce Hong Kong's status as an international shipping and trade centre, enhance the Greater Bay Area's overall international competitiveness, and advance the nation’s 'dual carbon' goals and high-quality international trade development."
