YANTIAN is widely recognised as a leader in environmental stewardship. Having won the "Best Green Container Terminal" award four times—the only terminal in the world to achieve this—YANTIAN has once again secured two awards in August, affirming its status as a green port.

The only port enterprise in Guangdong selected as a "dual-carbon goal" pilot

On the morning of August 15, during the Guangdong branch venue for National Ecology Day, YANTIAN was officially designated as the sole port enterprise in the province selected for the "dual-carbon goal" (carbon peaking and carbon neutrality) pilot program.

Green development is a cornerstone of Guangdong's high-quality growth. Under the Guangdong Province Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Pilot Plan (2023-2030), the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission conducted the application process for the first batch of pilot organisations. After rigorous expert review, 48 pilot organisations were selected across Guangdong Province, including 17 from Shenzhen. As the only port enterprise in the province to be chosen as a "dual-carbon goal" pilot, YANTIAN successfully reduced its total carbon emissions in 2023 by nearly 20,000 tons compared to 2022, a reduction equivalent to planting approximately 1.09 million trees.🌲

2024 Leading Enterprise for ESG Practice in China Logistics Industry

At the opening ceremony of the 2024 International Supply Chain Logistics Exposition (ISL Expo 2024), YANTIAN was officially recognised as 2024 Leading Enterprise for ESG Practice in China Logistics Industry.

"ESG"—standing for environment, social, and governance—has become a vital global benchmark for assessing a company's sustainable and high-quality development. At the expo, the "China Shipping and Logistics Enterprise ESG Series Standards Task Force" was also inaugurated. As a supporting organisation, YANTIAN was invited to join this task force, working alongside industry experts to advance the green and high-quality development of China's shipping and logistics sector.

Moving forward, YANTIAN will persist in elevating the port digitisation, intelligence, and environmental sustainability, embracing new quality productive forces to establish a more advanced international shipping hub.
