Recent CCTV reports and government announcements spotlighted the following key highlights:China's international trade performance: China's total imports and exports soared to CNY43.8 trillion, reflecting a 5.0% year-on-year increase. Exports surpassed CNY25 trillion for the first time, climbing 7.1% and reaching a historic high. Among them, electromechanical products, which constitute nearly 60% of total exports, saw an 8.7% rise.
Shenzhen's international trade performance: Shenzhen's total trade volume crossed the CNY4 trillion threshold for the first time, reaching CNY4.5 trillion —a 16.4% year-on-year increase, outpacing the national growth rate. Both import and export volumes hit record high, with exports reaching CNY2.8 trillion, up 14.6%. YANTIAN's contribution:
YANTIAN offers over 100 weekly shipping services, with exports of electromechanical products alone amounting to CNY1.1 trillion.
The world's largest container vessel, with a capacity exceeding 24,000 TEUs, is making record-breaking number of calls at YANTIAN, with a nearly 30% year-on-year increase in berthing frequency.
Last year, YANTIAN achieved record-breaking milestones:
Historic throughput achievement: For the first time ever, YANTIAN's annual container throughput surpassed 15 million TEUs, marking a new milestone in our history.
Feeder services: YANTIAN's Hong Kong feeder service, in operation for over 31 years, continues to see steady growth, with container volumes rising annually. Last year, the volume of laden containers surged by nearly 30%, setting a new record alongside the total annual feeder throughput. This achievement reflects the strengthened collaboration between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, capitalising on complementary advantages and fostering mutual growth. The service remains a vital, high-efficiency logistics corridor, facilitating seamless trade for businesses across the Greater Bay Area and inland regions.
Rail-sea service: YANTIAN's rail-sea service recorded our sixth consecutive year of growth, with exported laden container volumes rising by nearly 10%. The newly introduced "Chongqing–Shenzhen–Hong Kong Scheduled Service" has been widely embraced by customers, reinforcing trade links and delivering a win-win logistics solution for enterprises in Chengdu-Chongqing, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong.
As a crucial link in the global supply chain, YANTIAN handles over one-third of Guangdong Province's international trade and more than one-quarter of China's exports to the US. YANTIAN delivers extensive, fast, and premium services, distinguished by high frequency, extensive coverage, fast transit times, and exceptional efficiency, playing a pivotal role in advancing China's high-quality international trade and ensuring the resilience and stability of global industrial and supply chains.
As the preferred port-of-call for mega-vessels, YANTIAN has outstanding natural advantages. We have a unique 18-metre-deep and 475-metre-wide natural navigation channel in the Greater Bay Area that can allow 7/24 passage of 200,000-ton vessels in both directions with "zero time difference" and "zero tidal range". Notably, 100% of the world's largest container vessels calling at the Greater Bay Area choose YANTIAN, and many leading shipping companies have designated YANTIAN as the last port-of-call for Europe/US services and a strategic hub for intra-Asia trade.
Looking ahead, YANTIAN will continue expanding our global shipping network, strengthening connections around the globe. By further consolidating our status as a world-class shipping hub, we remain committed to driving Shenzhen’s rise as a logistics centre with global influence and supporting the high-quality growth of international trade in the Greater Bay Area and the whole country.
