On 9 April 2008, YICT welcomed the commencement of the Transpacific 2 (TP2) service – a new US service that is jointly operated by Maersk and CMA CGM. Additionally, Mediterranean Shipping Company will charter slots.
Five 6,600-TEU vessels have been deployed to the TP2 service – four operated by Maersk and one operated by CMA CGM. The new service calls at YICT every Wednesday, then moves on to Kaoshiung, Shanghai, Qingdao and Los Angeles.
