On 30 November 2007, YICT donated RMB 2 million to the Yantian District Charity Association at the charity's opening ceremony. The donation will help fund disaster and poverty relief efforts, disease prevention initiatives, and educational programmes in Yantian District.
The Yantian District Charity Association is a public, non-profit organisation consisting of individual and group volunteers from all walks of life. In the name of charity, it issues, receives, operates and manages donations and property given by domestic and foreign individuals and groups. To date, RMB 20 million has been raised for the charity fund.
Mr. Zhang Quanfang, former Chairman of Yantian District Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), holds post of Chairman of the Yantian District Charity Association while Mr. Kenneth Tse, Director and General Manager of YICT, is appointed as Honorary Chairman of the association.
YICT's donation shows its commitment to promoting the well-being of the community of Yantian, and of Shenzhen as a whole, through charitable contributions, volunteer work and environmental protection initiatives.
