On 23 January 2007, YICT welcomed the commencement of the MSC Silk East Bound (MSEB) Service, with the vessel call of the "MSC Chicago". This new Silk Service operated by the shipping line MSC, provides a swift return route to the Far East in addition to the existing MSC Silk West Bound (MSWB) Service, which also calls at YICT.

Ten 9,200-TEU container vessels have been deployed to this new line-haul route, which includes a port rotation of Antwerp, Jebel Ali, Singapore, Chiwan, Yantian, Xingang, Busan, Shanghai and Ningbo, calling at YICT every Friday.

This new Silk Service will equip shippers specialising in the export of goods to and from the Far East, Middle East and Europe with a greater variety of transit options and slots, and is part of an ongoing effort to continuously enhance the efficient movement of goods along the supply chain.
