With two awards for "First Place, Top 10 Container Terminals in China" for the years 2003-2004 and 2004-2005, YICT was recently awarded first place once again. According to the appraisal results announced by the Container Branch of the China Ports Association on 12 October 2006, YICT won four awards for the year 2005-2006: "First Place, Top 10 Container Terminals in China"; "First Place, Excellent Container Terminal in China in terms of Quay Crane Rate"; "First Place, Excellent Container Terminal in China in terms of Vessel Productivity"; and "Excellent Container Terminal in China in terms of Comprehensive Indexes".
The panel organised by the Container Branch reviewed and assessed a total of 76 container terminals in China, from which ten top ones were selected as excellent terminals. YICT was once again ranked first on that list. As an important hub in South China, YICT has made constant efforts to pursue outstanding port services. In 2005, YICT's annual throughput was 7.66 million TEU. With an average quay crane rate of 35.5 moves per hour and a vessel operation rate of 129.36 moves per hour, YICT once again took the lead in terminal operations among China's ports.
In addition to the above awards, YICT received several other accolades including "100 Star Enterprises of Overseas Chinese in China" and "The Best Global Container Port of the Year 2005-2006".
