On 22 October 2006, YICT celebrated the launch of a new North American service, the Zim Container Service (ZCS) operated by the Line, with the maiden vessel call of the "Zim Savannah".
ZCS calls at YICT every Monday and is considered a major service offering by the Line, having deployed 14 5,000-TEU container vessels to the route.
Currently, YICT attracts 39 North American services every week, equating to one vessel setting sail for North America every five hours. The fastest West Coast route takes only 11 days; ensuring seasonal demands are effectively met.
