On 12 June 2006, Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) took delivery of three Post-Panamax quay cranes to be deployed to the Expansion Project’s first berth due to come on-stream later this year. These cranes combined with the immanent arrival of thirty rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGC’s) and a further three Post-Panamax quay cranes, guarantee the effective and proficient handling of cargo. Furthermore, with a height of 42 metres and an outreach of 65 metres to span 23 rows of containers, these dual-hoist, tandem-lift quay cranes are more than capable of servicing the latest generation of container vessels.
