On 27 May 2006, Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) welcomed a new US service – PNS (PNW-South), operated by the CKYH Alliance (COSCON, K-Line, Yang Ming Line, and Hanjin Shipping). This is one of a number of new services launched by the CKYH Alliance, following amendments to its Far East / PNW (Pacific Northwest) service routes, the results of which are a reduced transit time of eleven days between Yantian and the west coast of America.

COSCO and Hanjin have jointly deployed four 5,500-TEU container vessels to run the new service which calls at Yantian on Friday and includes a port rotation of Hong Kong, Yantian, Yokohama, Vancouver, Seattle, Yokohama and Hong Kong.

The New World Alliance’s PSX and PS1, and CKYH Alliance’s CSEA services also experience a transit time of eleven days between Yantian and the west coast of America.

On 29 May, YICT expects to receive another new service operated by the CKYH Alliance - YPNW, linking South China and Taiwan to North America’s west coast. The new service includes a port rotation of Keelung, Yantian, Kaohsiung, Tacoma, Portland and Keelung.

These two additional services will bring the number of weekly shipping services at Yantian to 74, including 25 American services to the west coast. As a result, more express services and mega vessels calling at Yantian enable customers to enjoy more shipping options and convenient services.
