On 27 March 2006, Maersk Line launched a new Asian service FM3 at Yantian. With four 2,700 TEU container vessels deployed, the service has a rotation of Yantian, Hong Kong, Tanjung Pelepas, Nhava Sheva, Port Qasim and Colombo.
Moreover, Maersk's another new service Europe Far East Service (AE7E) will call at Yantian on the following day. AE7E has a rotation of Shekou, Hong Kong, Suez Canal, Algeciras, Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Hamburg, Dunkerque, Malaga, Port Said, Suez Canal, Yantian, Qingdao, Shanghai and Ningbo.
The FM3 and AE7E services are subsequent to adjustments made by Maersk to its American, European and Asian services at the beginning of 2006. In the first quarter of 2006, Maersk launched a total of four new services at Yantian. YICT has 75 weekly shipping services as of March.
