Port Community Card Connected to Customs' Electronic Gatehouse
A A A 缩小 加大 更大

From 1 September, truck drivers can use the Port Community Card (PCC) to access the customs' electronic gatehouse.  Undertaken by Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) and Shenzhen Customs, this latest initiative will further facilitate the flow of traffic at the port.

Using infrared technology, the new function of the PCC Card helps promote paper-free declaration.  The card can automatically verify container data with the information stored in the Customs' computer system.  Beyond enhancing container management for shipping lines, the initiative also minimises the amount of time container trucks spend at the terminal's gatehouses.

Launched by YICT in May 2003, there are currently more than 700 trucking companies, with 15,000 trucks, using the PCC.  In addition to providing truckers guidance at YICT's gatehouses, important information, such as licence plate number and container numbers, is stored on the PCC.
