On 14 July 2014, 12 students from the Yunnan Dahaicun Hope Primary School arrived at Yantian to start a fun-filled summer camp hosted by YICT. Over the following week, the students enjoyed many first-time experiences. They were deeply impressed by their tour of one of the largest container terminals in the world, walk on a beautiful beach, visit to the scenic spots of Shenzhen and the range of special activities prepared just for them.
On the last day of the camp, the students were invited to the Yantian Tianxin Primary School, where they joined students in pottery making, model plane flying and creative drawing. These interactive activities introduced the two groups of students to different cultures, broadened their horizons and allowed them to forge friendships.
YICT has organised a summer camp programme for Dahaicun Hope Primary School students for nine consecutive years. As Mr Tang Wencai, Headmaster of Dahaicun Hope Primary School, said, “YICT had provided a window on to the world for our students.”
