On 15 August 2014, YICT, in partnership with the Hong Kong Chi Heng Foundation, organised a fun day trip to Yantian for 24 of the children participating in the Chi Heng Summer Camp. The children toured the port and took a quayside boat trip.
Inspired by the port’s cutting-edge technologies and advanced management, the students left with expanded horizons. More importantly, they saw the value in fighting social stigma and isolation by building self-confidence and a sense of community.
YICT has been involved with the Chi Heng Summer Camp for five consecutive years, and more than 100 children from underprivileged families in central China have benefitted from it.
