On 15 February 2017, the first container train of the new intermodal service between Yantian and Nanchang set off from Nantang station bound for YICT. Loaded with 112 TEU of containers for export to ASEAN countries via YICT, the train is estimated to take 30 hours to arrive at the port. Compared with the river-sea transportation mode, the Yantian-Nanchang intermodal service will save 7 days of transportation, significantly reducing shippers’ time and logistics costs. The new service also marks the second logistics gateway from Jiangxi province to YICT following the Yantian-Ganzhou intermodal service.
Shenzhen Pingyan Multimodal Company Limited operates 12 container rail services, enabling YICT to provide one-stop logistics services to areas of West and Central China such as Chongqing, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Hunan and Jiangxi, as well as Shilong, Changping, Shaoguan, Qingyuan and Heyuan of Guangdong province. The furthest point in the network is the Alataw Pass.
