On 12 May 2017, the 20,568-TEU container vessel Madrid Maersk called at YICT on her maiden voyage. Measuring 399 metres long and 58.6 metres wide, Madrid Maersk is the world’s largest container vessel in service. As the first of Maersk’s 2nd generation Triple-E fleet, the vessel is deployed as part of the liner’s Asia–Europe service, together with other vessels in the same category.
