In order to build a favourable ecology for cross-border e-commerce and help Chinese brands go global, the Yantian Branch of Shenzhen Cross-Border E-Commerce Association (SZCBEA) was officially established on June 17. The branch will be inaugurated in July and based in YICT Building.

At the plaque presentation ceremony, SZCBEA awarded YANTIAN as the "Honorary President Organization of SZCBEA Yantian Branch". With more than 100 international services, including 15 e-commerce express routes, YANTIAN is a key gateway for China's international trade, serving one-third of the container volume generated by import and export in Guangdong Province, and one-fourth of the Sino-US trade. Leveraging its advantages of express shipping routes, YANTIAN has been innovating services for cross-border e-commerce logistics. It provides 9710 (cross-border e-commerce B2B direct export) and 9810 (cross-border e-commerce export overseas warehouse) priority container inspection services for cross-border e-commerce, launches cross-border e-commerce 9610+T86 (consolidation for export), Shenzhen-Hong Kong 9610 (consolidation for export), cross-border intermodal services for bonded areas, and MCC mode on-dock based on intermodal services,     becoming terminal-of-choice for cross-border e-commerce in South China by helping cross-border e-commerce merchants export quickly, efficiently and flexibly.

As the initiator of industry standards for cross-border e-commerce, SZCBEA has been committed to leading and promoting the development of the entire cross-border e-commerce ecosystem. In December last year, YANTIAN hosted the founding meeting of the South China Cross-border E-Commerce Logistics Standardization Committee hosted by SZCBEA, and the two sides worked together to promote the standardisation of the cross-border e-commerce industry. The Yantian Branch is expected to collaborate with cross-border e-commerce merchants to enable industries in South China to go global, selling Chinese brands all over the world.

"The establishment of the Yantian Branch of SZCBEA is of great significance and has given us greater missions and responsibilities", said Lawrence Shum, Managing Director of Hutchison Ports YANTIAN. YANTIAN will continue to contribute to the smooth and stable operations of supply chain and industry chain in the Greater Bay Area, assume the responsibility as an industry leader, and at the same time play our role as a "communication bridge" to support the development of cross-border e-commerce. As a member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC of Yantian District, Lawrence Shum actively makes suggestions for the development of cross-border e-commerce. In his proposal "Guiding the High-quality Development of Off-dock Industries to Support the Establishment of the Core Area of the Global Maritime Center", he suggested attracting leading cross-border e-commerce enterprises to Shenzhen to optimise the cross-border e-commerce ecosystem and support the building of the first on-dock e-commerce returned goods transfer center of China. In addition, in the special field trip to YANTIAN with the theme of "Improving Shenzhen’s Overall Competitiveness in International Shipping" led by Lin Jie, Chairperson of Shenzhen Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), YANTIAN reported to the delegation on the issues encountered by the port and shipping logistics industry regarding cross-border e-commerce, and put forward its ideas on addressing these issues and matters requiring government support, which received favourable responses from members of the delegation. Lawrence Shum said, "In the future, YANTIAN will continue to work with SZCBEA, government departments, and partners at home and abroad to explore new paths for industry development, promote the formation of a cluster effect generated by cross-border e-commerce and other shipping and logistics enterprises in Yantian District so that the port and logistics industries can support and reinforce each other, significantly improving the competitiveness of the maritime economy in Shenzhen, and helping Chinese brands successfully go global.
