Sea transport is the main international logistics channel in Shenzhen, while pilotage is an important link of it. Under the pandemic, the first Chinese boarding international vessels is the pilot, and the last one to send them away is also the pilot.
In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, people of YANTIAN united as one and overcame various difficulties to ensure the stability and smooth operations of the industry chain, supply chain, and the express feeder service for supplies to Hong Kong.
To ensure stable goods supply from Guangdong to Hong Kong to support the city’s fight against COVID-19, on March 21, YANTIAN launched the "Dongguan-Yantian-Hong Kong" intermodal express service.
Thanks to the support from Shenzhen Municipal Government, Yantian District Government, Shenzhen Transport Bureau, the Customs, the Frontier Inspection and Shenzhen Maritime Safety Administration, the "YANTIAN-Hong Kong" COSCON SHIPPING Lines ("COSCON") Daily Express Service was officially launched on March 1 to further support the transportation of daily supplies to Hong Kong amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Following the first shipment of 28-ton vegetables to Hong Kong on February 18, on February 20, the same cargo owner commissioned another two 40-foot reefers fully loaded with 23 tons of fresh vegetables, which were loaded at the dedicated berth at Yantian Port for the shipment of supplies to Hong Kong and left for the destionation on schedule, marking the start of the daily operation of “Sea Express” for daily supplies to Hong Kong.
At the beginning of the New Year, YANTIAN launched YANTIAN-Dongguan Port Alliance and YANTIAN-Jiangmen Intermodal Service, further improving the multimodal transport service network in the Greater Bay Area.
Recently, the Ministry of Transport and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly announced that 20 projects, including the "Yantian Port’s Asia-Pacific-Pan-Pearl River Delta-Europe International Multimodal Service Project", have been recognised as "National Multimodal Service Demonstration Project". Yantian Port is the only port in Shenzhen to receive this distinction.
Starting from 00:00 on Jan 29, 2022, YANTIAN will resume to receive export laden containers with vessel ETB-7 (Estimated Time of Berthing: within 7 days).
Starting from 00:00 on January 21, 2022, YANTIAN will only receive export laden containers with vessel ETB-4 (Estimated Time of Berthing: within 4 days).
YANTIAN welcomes new types of imports like Thai longan and Chilean cherries, adding to the portfolio of its fruit import.
Recently, the container terminal project of YANTIAN's West Port received the Luban Prize from the China Construction Industry Association, and is the only container port project winning the accolade.
On 16 December 2021, YANTIAN welcomed the upgraded “PCC3” USW express service with the call of “COSCO SHIPPING HIMALAYAS”.
On 13 December 2021, the founding meeting of the South China Cross-border E-Commerce Logistics Standardisation Committee was held in YANTIAN.
On 2 December 2021, South China’s largest and best equipped supervision facility for imported meat at YANTIAN passed the inspection of the General Administration of Customs and will be put into operation soon.
On November 16, YANTIAN celebrated its 28th anniversary. It has developed itself from a green field site into one of the busiest container terminals in the world, setting one record after another.
