YICT is pleased to announce the completion of a trial run of nine liquefied natural gas (LNG) container tractors. YICT is the first Chinese container terminal operator to have conducted such a test.

On 23 November 2009, the first Ro-Ro service to call in Shenzhen made its inaugural visit at YICT. The Yantian-Tianjin Service will carry vehicles for BYD Auto, a Shenzhen-based automobile manufacturer.
On 18 November 2009, the CMA CGM Christophe Colomb, one of the world's largest container vessels, made its maiden call at YICT. At the time, YICT loaded about 2,600 containers on board the vessel.
On 29 October, the first feeder service that connects Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) and Zhuhai International Container Terminals (Jiuzhou), (ZICT(J)) was officially launched.
On 14 October 2009, YICT welcomed the commencement of a new EU service from the CKYH Alliance (consisting of COSCO, "K" Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin), the Mediterranean Service One (MD1).
