1+1>2
Dedicated to creating the highland of cross-border e-commerce industry

As is known, port serves as a bridge linking the cross-border e-commerce ecosystem. With the world's largest container port run by a single terminal operator, the preferred port-of-call for mega-vessels in South China, Hutchison Ports YANTIAN is responsible for approximately one third of Guangdong's import and export, one fourth of China-U.S. export. YANTIAN has 14 premium express shipping services for cross-border e-commerce among its 100 plus weekly services to the major destinations worldwide, it also has significant advantages in port and competitiveness to develop cross-border e-commerce and logistics services such as ocean shipping, rail-sea services and Guangdong-HongKong barge.

The cross-border e-commerce operation center and YANTIAN Port complement each other and will produce a piling-on effect of "1+1>2". As a supporting industry and new business form of the port, the operation center will not only help to improve the port infrastructure, bonded warehouse, logistics and supporting service capacity, but also greatly reduce the logistics costs of cross-border e-commerce, and further amplify the radiation and driving role of international shipping logistics. As Yantian Comprehensive Bonded Area cross-border E-commerce Inspection Center and Yantian Port cross-border e-commerce operation center have been put into use, Yantian District is now equipped with the conditions to carry out multiple types of cross-border e-commerce business. In the future, Yantian District is expected to become the highland of cross-border e-commerce industry with better cross-border e-commerce policies, complete facilities, higher inspection efficiency and flexible services in Shenzhen.

Yantian Comprehensive Bonded Zone Phase II officially operating
Dedicated to creating a highland of quality development in the Bay Area

Under the strong support of Shenzhen Customs and Meisha Customs, Shenzhen Yantian Comprehensive Bonded Zone Phase II officially operated. Zeng Jianpeng, Standing Committee member of Yantian District Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Yantian District, Lan Zhaohua, Director of Bonded Economy Department of Municipal Commerce Bureau, Liu Jintang, Director of Meisha Customs, and Lam Koonho, General Manager of Hutchison Ports YANTIAN Commerce Department, attended the ceremony.

On July 6th, it made the country’s first CBZ to operate under the 24/7 free-of-booking passage mode. On December 8th, Comprehensive Bonded Zone Phase II was officially launched. This is of great significance for improving the carrying capacity of the zone, and a breakthrough to promote the digitalization and efficiency transformation and upgrading of the area. Yantian Comprehensive Bonded Zone is the first national comprehensive free trade Zone in Shenzhen with a special "green channel" for the district and port. The formal operation of Yantian Comprehensive Bonded Zone Phase II improves the logistics efficiency, reduces the operating costs, and promotes the development of cross-border e-commerce, cold chain logistics, multi country consolidation (MCC) and other business forms in Yantian District. From January to October of 2022, the total import and export volume of Yantian Comprehensive Bonded Zone reached 79.738 billion RMB, an increase of 10.31% over the same period last year, making positive contributions to the stability of foreign trade and development of Yantian District.

Yantian Comprehensive Bonded Zone has gathered many famous international freight forwarders and domestic well-known LCL enterprises, and the LCL business accounts for more than half of the country. It is the key deployment of international trade merchants over the years. The operation of Phase II will bring a new round of resource optimization, attracting more well-known enterprises to settle down. At the Shenzhen Global Investment Promotion Conference last week, Maersk and Yantian district signed a strategic cooperation agreement, planning to invest in the Yantian comprehensive bonded zone to build an Asia-Pacific, omnichannel, smart and green integrated logistics center. On the basis of the existing traditional business of import and export logistics, order fulfillment, regional distribution and other services, we will expand cross-border e-commerce logistics, cold chain logistics and multi country consolidation (MCC). The linkage of port areas has facilitated industry clustering and developed a range of opportunities, consolidating the position of YANTIAN as the preferred port for cross-border e-commerce in South China.

With the favorable entrepreneurial environment, Hutchison Ports YANTIAN, the pilot demonstration area and the world-class shipping hub in the Greater Bay Area, is moving towards the future! Tomorrow, YANTIAN will amplify its advantages, continue to gather resources, and make contributions to establishing a multi-tiered, multi-mode, multi-functional and multi-business global Marine center in Shenzhen.
