Dear customers,
YANTIAN has been closely monitoring the industry trends and customer demands. Currently, we launch a variety of measures to better meet your shipping needs.
01 Suspension of the ETB-10 policy
Starting from August 1, 2023, the ETB-10 policy (within 10 days before the estimated date of berthing) will be suspended. Please note that this policy bears no relevance with the free storage period. For detailed information, please contact the shipping lines. We will flexibly adjust the ETB policy for laden export containers according to the actual situation and announce updates in time. Thank you for your support and cooperation. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the terminal service hotline 25180000.
02 Port equipment upgrade
With more and more mega-vessels over 400 meters long calling YANTIAN, we have been upgrading our port equipment to better serve these "marine giants". In 2023, we plan to heighten 18 RTGCs and 4 quay cranes. By then, we will have more 52-meter quay cranes, the highest ones in South China. All these measures allow us to greatly improve the operational efficiency and accommodate multiple mega-vessels simultaneously. The heightening of RTGCs will also increase the utilisation rate of the yard and further optimise its storage capacity.
03 The first "recommended service" in Shenzhen waters of the Mirs Bay
Blessed with a unique channel of approximately 475 metres wide and 18 metres deep, YANTIAN is one of the ports in the Greater Bay Area capable of handling 200,000-DWT vessels in an all-weather, two-way navigation channel with "zero time difference" and "zero tidal range". On July 15, the eastern port area of Shenzhen opened a new channel, which is 9.8 nautical miles long and 270 meters wide. The new line starts from the mouth of Mirs Bay, stretches along the Guangdong-Hong Kong demarcation line on the Shenzhen side to the entrance of the Yantian Port approach channel, covering and connecting all approach channels of ports in Shenzhen waters of the Mirs Bay. The new recommended line not only help shipping lines save operating costs, but also effectively improve the navigation efficiency and water transportation capacity.
04 Optimised storage solutions
The relaxation of the ETB policy will bring considerable storage pressure to the yard. Therefore, YANTIAN has planned counter measures in advance and leveraged all kinds of storage resources in peripheral areas, such as railway depot, inland ports and yards under the port alliance, to maximise the yard capacity and fully support the export trade.
