Yantian, the First Port of Call for MSC's New American Service

On 2 March 2006, MSC launched a new American West Coast service, the New Orient (MNOR), at Yantian. A total of five 6,750-TEU capacity vessels have been deployed to the service, which commences at Yantian and proceeds to Shanghai, Ningbo, Tokyo, Long Beach, Busan and Qingdao. The service’s transit time from Shanghai to Long Beach is scheduled to take thirteen days, offering an express route for shippers to ship cargo from Central and Northern China to the US West Coast.
