On 24 November 2016, YICT took delivery of eight new electric rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGCs). The new 1-over-6 RTGCs each have 41-tons lifting capacity.
On 5 November 2016, YICT held its Family Day 2016 at Splendid China & China Folk Culture Village, a popular amusement park in Shenzhen. Patrick Lam, Managing Director of YICT, kicked off the family get-together with opening remarks. He also announced the launch of the company’s new corporate identity in line with that of Hutchison Ports.
The 11th China (Shenzhen) International Logistics and Transportation Fair (CILF) was held from 12 to 14 October 2016 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Centre. YICT joined the event to promote its status as "A Smart, Green and World-class Port".
On 9 October 2016, YICT volunteers attended a party celebrating Seniors’ Day with the elderly residents of the Yantian District Social Welfare Centre.
On 27 September, a delegation led by Jiang Zhenglin, Party Secretary of Guangzhou Railway Group, and Hu Lingling, General Manager of Guangshen Railway Company Limited, visited YICT and Pingyan Multimodal Company Limited.
On 12 September 2016, a delegation led by Qiu Xiaoping, Vice Minister of Human Resources and Social Security of China, visited YICT. He was accompanied by Ai Xuefeng, Vice Mayor of Shenzhen, and Du Ling, Secretary of the Communist Party of China Yantian District Committee.
In June 2016, YICT was rated at level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) and became the first container terminal appraised in China.
